Preparing Boys for Life

Meet Nicholas, Lower School

What’s the best thing about being a Ford?

No matter where I am on campus, everyone knows my name.

What is a special Haverford School memory?

My favorite Haverford memory is when I was in first grade at the fifth-grade graduation and award ceremony. When they called my name for the most improved reading award I was so excited! When I was walking to the stage all I could think about was how hard I worked and the help I got from Ms. Gallagher and also the reading specialist. We worked together for so many hours each week to improve my reading skills.

If you could be an animal, what would you be?

A capuchin monkey. They’re really funny, smart animals. And they’re kind.

What do you like best about yourself?

Can I give you two things? I’m a really good athlete. I play soccer, squash, basketball, football, and track. I’m also proud to be a kind person. I try to do community service; my friend and I do a UNICEF project to collect change for kids in need all around the world. It’s important to be kind because we should make people feel good, and we should help people.

What is your favorite subject?

Art is my favorite, and I really like science, too. I made a papier-mâché puppet in art and we made crystals in science.
