Meet the Head of Upper School

Our boys possess a fundamental desire to make connections with people, places, and ideas. Equal parts nurture, structure, and latitude are the ingredients that engender this meaningful and sustained connection. Our faculty understand that, especially for boys, a thoughtfully cultivated teacher-student relationship is the currency through which durable learning and growth is achieved, that boys respond to clear and consistently applied expectations, and that education at its core is a personal journey of self-discovery. 

Our faculty know that boys like up-on-your feet activities that require them to work in teams and use tools to solve real world problems in gently competitive settings. They know boys need structure, a road that is wide enough for them to take chances and make mistakes, but also one that is intentionally designed to ensure clarity, rigor, and relevance. 

The Upper School program provides opportunities for both individual expression and community attachment. Inclusion in a supportive community grounds our boys, giving them the confidence to not only explore and create, but also encouraging them to consider their community “footprint” - the ways in which their words and actions impact others. At our core we believe in the boys and trust them to be the souls and stewards of the School.
