I joined the Service Club because it is important to stop and look around every once in a while to see how fortunate you are and how to pay it forward. Henry, Form II
The Middle School comes together annually for Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service and, in the spring, a Morning of Environmental Service. Too, every grade selects a project that they focus on for the school year, and the Middle School Service Club identifies and responds to local community needs.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service
Middle School students, parents, faculty, and staff from The Haverford School, The Agnes Irwin School, and The Baldwin School join to assemble 20,000 meals for victims of natural disasters worldwide. This initiative supports the work of Stop Hunger Now.
Morning of Environmental Service
Middle School students pull on their gloves and go to work cleaning, pulling weeds, building trails, and beautifying the community. Some service projects are held on campus, while others take place across the area at places like Skunk Hollow Community Gardens (CSA), Haverford Reserve, Sharpe Park Bird Sanctuary, Main Line Art Center, and Riverbend Environmental Education Center.
Middle School Service Club
Through the Middle School Service Club, students are encouraged to consider their place in the greater world around them to better the lives of others. Students armed with empathy and a greater consciousness about the world beyond Haverford will find themselves in a much better place to be contributing, thoughtful members of the global society in which we live.

A service leader is not someone who serves in need of an incentive, but a person who believes that the gift of being able to help is the real incentive. I am working to create a partnership with Barefoot College in India to help less fortunate people. I have become a better person through service, and have realized that even the smallest deed done will be remembered. Yeshwin, Eighth Grade
