COVID-19 Plan
Reminders About COVID-19
In order to come on campus, all members of our community must be free of any symptoms potentially related to COVID-19. At this time, the symptoms outlined by the CDC include:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
If you have any of the above symptoms, please do not come to campus.
If you are unsure whether or not your son should attend school, you are welcome to contact the Health Office (healthservices@haverford.org) or contact your son’s physician.
If your son is staying home due to illness, please call the Health Office @ 484-417-2714. The Health Center monitors absenteeism to determine both the overall health and well-being of the community, as well as the need for supportive care upon returning to the School.
For non-illness related absences, please call your divisional office to report absences by 9 a.m.

Return to School checklist
For the 2021-22 school year, the School is requiring all employees and students to submit their COVID-19 vaccination status. Please use the Magnus Health portal to submit your information, which will be kept confidential by the Health Office. While the School is not requiring the COVID-19 vaccination, the School strongly encourages all members of our community who are eligible for the vaccine to receive it.
Lower School families will continue to complete daily symptom surveillance. Please download the Magnus Health App before the start of school.
Daily reminders and requirements:
Every member of the community is required to take the following steps before coming to campus each day:
- Do daily symptom surveillance to check for any sign of illness
- Lower School families are required to log your child's health status in the Magnus Health App; Middle School and Upper School students are not required to submit their health status for the 2021-22 year.
- If your child is ill, review the Wellness at Haverford - When to Stay at Home Guidelines
- Ensure you have a mask before arriving on campus
Health protocols
The School is continuing many health practices in the 2021-22 school year. These protocols are in place to protect members of our community.
These practices include hand washing, mask wearing while indoors (regardless of vaccination status), and maintaining a physical distance from one another.
Students will be required to bring a mask to school every day. In accordance with federal, state, and local health guidelines, the School will maintain three feet of distance whenever possible.
School day procedures
The School has implemented adjusted norms and procedures in accordance with guidelines and requirements set by local, regional, and national health authorities.
All learning will take place in person during the 2021-22 school year. In the event a class, division, or the School must return to Virtual Haverford, information will be sent by each Division Head.
