A Brief History:
The Haverford School Water Polo program began in 2002, when it officially entered a Varsity and Junior Varsity program into the Inter-Academic League. The team struggled in its first few years of existence, but through hard work, determination, skill, and perseverance, has developed into a perennial league champion contender. The program won the Inter-Ac Championship outright in 2005, and was co-champion in 2008 and 2009.
The 2015 season is full of promise with a team filled with skilled underclassmen, and led by VI Formers Harrison White, Reed Haabestad, Dave Mitchell, Ken Fitzpatrick, and Alex Sanfilippo. Head Coach Kevin Van Such is excited to get the season underway with the hard working talent that is returning to the team. Along with Assistant Coach Sean Hansen, there is a new level of encouragement, optimism, and team unity. The Fords face formidable opponents throughout the Inter-Ac as the team is poised to make a run at the league title. The season wraps up with the much anticipated show down with rival Episcopal Academy on EA DAY at Episcopal Academy on Saturday, Nov. 12. GO FORDS!
