Enrollment in private instrumental music lessons is an agreement that spans 32 lessons over an academic year:
- Term I – September through January, totaling 16 lessons
- Term II – February through May, totaling 16 lessons
Specific days and times of lessons will be determined according to mutual availability between your son and his instructor.
Payment is due in advance (checks payable to The Haverford School). Please return the enrollment form and payment by Sept. 5 (fall) or Jan. 16 (spring) to the Business Office at the School. All credit card payments must be made in person at the business office.
NOTE: Students may not begin private lessons until the Business Office has received payment in full. Please do not make separate arrangements or verbal agreements with the instrumental teacher regarding this policy.
The absence policy for music lessons is as follows:
Music instructors are required to makeup one excused student absence, one school-related student absence (i.e. snow day or field trip), and any teacher absences that may occur throughout the year.
A student must give 24 hours notice of any absence, or it will be considered unexcused, except in the case of emergency. In the event of sickness, the instructor must be notified at home by 7 a.m. on the day of the lesson.
Should you choose to discontinue lessons, a refund will be granted as follows:
- 75% if within the first week of lessons
- 50% if within the first two weeks of lessons
- 25% if within the first three weeks of lessons
- No refund after the first three weeks of lessons
