Meet Our Tour Guides

Tour Guide Captains Riyadh, Caleb, Tommy, Ryan, and Grayson

Our tour guides are some of the first faces you'll see on our campus. They are the young academics, athletes, and actors who will lead you on tours past the Walk of Virtues, through the Quad, and into our classrooms.

Once you've applied, our student tour guides typically take you and your family on a full campus tour of Haverford, keying in on your son's greatest interest; whether that be in the arts, the athletics, the academics, service learning, or somewhere in between.

Our tour guide captains— Riyadh, Caleb, Tommy, Ryan, and Grayson—recently reflected on their favorite features of The Haverford School. They answered a series of questions, covering topics from joy to admiration, hard lessons learned to strong relationships formed. Their responses show the many ways our community lives our mission and embodies our core virtues. As you read through their answers below, imagine your own Haverford journey!

On friendship

Be yourself. Your people will find you and you will find your people. I found my people—they encourage me on and off sports fields, through the down moments in my life, and, overall, will be in my corner forever. They make Haverford the place it is now.

On leadership

On the first day of school every year, the seniors walk the kindergartners through the Walk of Virtues to the opening assembly. Once the assembly concludes, seniors walk the kindergartners to their first day of classes. This tradition is an integral part of Haverford's mission. For the seniors, it is a moment to reflect on how far we have come, and for the kindergartners, a bit of calm to the crazy world flying by before their 5-year-old eyes.

On dedication

Be yourself and dedicate yourself fully to everything we do here. Just do that and you'll fit right in.

Ryan

On support

Rosettes is my favorite Haverford tradition because they are a literal and metaphorical passing down between the graduating seniors and the junior class. It's also an opportunity to relax and unwind during the busiest part of the school year.

On compassion

Starting my junior year, I began attending every Peer Counseling meeting they held. I quickly began to enjoy the ability to share pieces of my life with my friends over pizza in a safe, comfortable space.
