Six seniors at The Haverford School – Daniel Chow, William Curran, Andrew Feng, Alexander Greer, Toby Ma, and Aditya Sardesai – were named finalists for the National Merit Scholar competition.
This year, all six of the School’s semifinalists have moved on to the final round of competition, which makes them eligible for more than 7,000 National Merit Scholarships. The scholarships will be awarded this spring, with all announcements made by June.
The students join a pool of about 15,000 finalists competing for scholarships. The six boys were first named semifinalists in September due to their achieving some of the highest scores in the state on the 2018 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®). They went on to secure finalist status after meeting specific criterion.
