Join Dr. Pam Greenblatt, Head of Lower School at The Haverford School, to gain practical tips on how to support young readers. This is part of the Best for Boys Speaker Series, which highlights topics and practices that help foster the social, emotional, and academic growth of young boys. The May 6 event will be presented at 7:30 p.m. in a virtual format, in partnership with Tredyffrin Public Library.
Dr. Greenblatt will highlight the science of reading, including child brain development and the important relationship between oral language skills and literacy. She will explore the effectiveness of various approaches to teaching reading and help parents decipher jargon and examine research as they seek a deeper understanding of early literacy. Parents will get to the basics of helping their children learn to read well and to read often, setting them up for future success.
