Grant Ament '15 speaks at first Haverford Alumni: In the Arena

Grant Ament ’15 was the featured speaker at the first Haverford Alumni: In the Arena series on Feb. 10. Ament participated in a Q&A style session with Young Alumni Committee Chair Thomas Lindberg ’07.

Ament, who graduated from Penn State University in May, was selected as the number one overall pick in the 2020 PLL Lacrosse League Draft and currently plays for the Archers LC. He also works for Warrior Sports in their lacrosse division.

During his talk, he reflected on lessons learned at The Haverford School, his time playing for and attending Penn State, and his plans for the future, including launching the Attack Academy app.

“When I look back at Haverford and the experiences I had at the School, it has very little to do with what I learned in class, but more about how the teachers taught and how passionate they were in their individual subjects. All the teachers were extremely passionate about their jobs and more importantly, they wanted to share that passion with students,” Ament said.

“For me, being a professional lacrosse player now, my goal is to show how passionate I am, because I love the sport. It’s everything to me. But it would be dumb of me not to share that to the next generation of players to be able to come up and do the same thing that I did.”
