Preparing Boys for Life

Haverford School community surpasses Character at Our Core campaign goal

The Haverford School has closed Character at Our Core, a comprehensive fundraising campaign designed to build upon the School’s expertise in the art and science of educating boys, complete a new Middle School building that supports 21st century pedagogy, and continue to build a diverse and inclusive community that is prepared to contribute to life beyond the School.

The campaign’s goal was set at $50 million, and dozens of donors surpassed that goal with generous donations amounting to $50.4 million.

Character at Our Core had four priorities, all of which build upon our strengths as a School:

  • Invest in extraordinary educators for our boys - honor and support our educators with competitive salaries and professional development opportunities
  • Realize inspiring spaces for every boy - the new Middle School - set to open in Sept. 2020 - will mark the completion of our campus master plan. The new building is intentionally designed to facilitate boys’ learning and growth.
  • Open doors for remarkable boys - enable students from varying backgrounds and financial circumstances to access a Haverford School education while enriching our community
  • Forge a community of difference-makers - intentionally focus on leadership, community, service learning, and global education programs that support character building, citizenship, and community engagement

The generous gifts of our community helped us surpass our campaign goal, but our work in providing boys with the best support as they grow into young men is not done. You can still help us fuel our success as a School by supporting important initiatives by making a gift to The Haverford Fund.
