Track and field team wins PAISSA state championships

The Haverford School track and field team finished their season by winning the Independent school (PAISSA) state championships held at the Hill School May 16. Haverford edged Malvern and easily handled Penn Charter, perennial rivals from the Inter-Ac League. The team was led by senior Geoffrey Bocobo who won the 110 hurdles and 400 meters, finished fifth in 300 hurdles, and ran the third leg of the gold medal 4x400. Junior Lucas Elek won the 800 meters and ran third on the gold medal 4x800 relay. Junior Chris Morgan won the triple jump while junior Matt Galambos finished third in the shot put and discus. It was a total team effort and capped off a wonderful season!
