We recognize that we have a responsibility to use our resources wisely and to protect them for future generations. Natural materials, foods, and packaging, proper farming and trade practices, and innovative recycling programs are just a few of our sustainable practices at Haverford.

Sustainable Dining at Haverford
The Haverford School’s Sodexo team has made a commitment to reducing its carbon footprint by adopting eco-friendly practices, like turning off lights and equipment when not in use, recycling paper products, and investing in eco-friendly, compostable, and bio-degradable packaging and dishware.
For example, the Simply To Go salad containers, Soup to Go containers, bowls, napkins, plates, cold cups, hot cups, lids, and utensils are all products designed to be gentler on the enviroment and reduce waste.
Sodexo also uses local sources for organic produce and milk, meats that are free of antibiotics or nitrates, and partners with innovative and environmentally conscious companies like Douwe Egberts Coffee, which uses Global Environmental Management System (GEMS) and reuses coffee residue as fuel to reduce waste.
