The Haverford School employs two certified athletic trainers, Bill Wardle and Carrie Smith, who are responsible for the prevention and care of athletic injuries sustained by our student-athletes. It is our goal to respond to all athletic emergencies on campus quickly and provide prompt treatment. We are able to provide most follow-up rehabilitation and treatments necessary to ensure your son's safe return to his sport, as well. The athletic training room is on the first level of the Field House, across from the Fitness Center. It is equipped with a taping area, three treatment tables, electric stimulation and ultrasound, two hydrotherapy whirlpools, and numerous therapeutic exercise tools including a Nintendo Wii system.

Bill and Carrie are both members of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers' Society, and together they bring a combined 28 years of experience as certified athletic trainers to the athletic program.

In addition, Haverford School has two school physicians. Dr. Brian Bullock has served as the school’s medical director since 1992, and is present at all home football and lacrosse games. Dr. David Rubenstein has been our team orthopedist since 1995, and is available for consultation on any sports-related injuries.
