Duane Case

Music Department Chair, Lower School Music, Director of Treble Choir
Duane earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, N.J., where he studied voice with Thomas Faracco, and he holds a master's degree in Music Education from the University of Delaware. He performed in the Westminster Chapel Choir, the Westminster Symphonic Choir, and was one of the youngest singers invited to perform with the renowned Westminster Choir. His performances with the choirs include concerts at the Academy of Music, Avery Fisher Hall, and Carnegie Hall under the baton of Joseph Flummerfelt, Ricardo Muti, Robert Shaw, and Kurt Masur.

Valerie Case

Lower School Music, Accompanist for Treble Choir
Valerie holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Westminster Choir College and a master's of music from the University of Delaware. While her principal instrument is the piano, having studied with Marcantonio Barone and Harold Zabrack, her exceptional musicianship and vocal artistry was recognized at Westminster Choir College with a position in the Symphonic Choir. Valerie is an experienced music educator and choral director who held positions in the Springfield school district and the Malvern school.

Annie Pulaski

Lower School Music, Director of String Orchestras, Director of The Haverford School Conservatory
Annie holds a Bachelor of Arts from Smith College, a master's in violin performance from the University of Massachusetts, and a Professional Studies Diploma from Temple University’s Esther Boyer College of Music. Her teachers have included Roman Totenberg, Jascha Brodsky, and David Arben. Her performances in the Philadelphia area include concerts with the Opera Company of Philadelphia, the Concerto Soloists Chamber Orchestra, and as a singer with the Philadelphia Singers. She has also performed in Charleston, S.C., and Spoleto, Italy, with the Spoleto Festival of Two Worlds. For the past several summers, Annie has played with the Open Festival of New Jersey in Princeton.

John Stroud

Middle School Music, Director of the Centennial Singers and The Haverford School Celebrantes
John earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Susquehanna University and his Master's of Music in choral conducting from Temple University's Esther Boyer College of Music. At Temple, he studied with Alan Harler and received the Elaine Brown Tribute Award for choral conducting in 2001. John is associate director of the world-renowned Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale, a group he has sung with since he was 10, and is also artistic director of the Media Chamber Chorale. John is the current recipient of the Grace and Mahlon Buck Chair in Music and the Performing Arts at The Haverford School.
